GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

Ground source heat pumps (GSHP) circulate a mixture of water and antifreeze around a series of pipes in the ground known as a loop or collector. This pipework is buried in the ground and the heat pump extracts renewable, solar energy from the ground to produce sufficient heat to comfortably cater for all your heating and hot water requirements. This heat can then be used in radiators or an underfloor distribution system.

By using a ground heat source to generate efficient energy for your home, you can help to reduce harmful carbon emissions into the environment whilst providing your domestic heating and hot water needs. This is a fantastic sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Ground Source Heat Pumps are extremely efficient when designed, specified and installed correctly. We utilise our in-house design capabilities with the skill and expertise of our installation partners or your own plumbers/installers, to make sure that you receive a new heating and DHW system that is as cost effective and efficient as possible and minimises your running costs.

You can make significant savings versus traditional electric, oil and LPG heating systems, and this can be between 50-75% reduction in running costs.

Government Incentive

The Government created an incentive scheme known as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) in 2014. This scheme rewards owners of newly installed renewable heating technologies such as Ground Source Heat Pumps. Switching to a Ground Source Heat Pump saves energy and therefore helps the UK reduce its carbon emissions and meet its renewable energy targets.

People who join the scheme receive quarterly payments for seven years for having clean, green, renewable heat energy and the payments are based on the estimated generation produced by their system.

Thanks to the sophisticated PicoEnergy controller with an integrated touchscreen, self-generated electricity from a Solar PV system can be used for heating and cooling of the house. The speed control of the heat pump adapts itself to the photovoltaic power independently. The free photovoltaic electricity can thus be used as best as possible to heat the house, hot water or even a swimming pool.
